| Mindy Forrester, Owner |
Mindy Forrester recently concluded her professional career as a Radio City Rockette and has been a sought after professional dancer for many years. She received her education in the Bachelors Program at Oklahoma City University, one of the finest and most respected dance performance schools in the country. Mindy possesses a high level of dance technique and a broad range of professional performance experience. She brings to The Pointe, the passion and expertise to inspire children to dance, as well as prepare those aspiring to a career in the industry.
Mindy’s experience extends into many aspects of the performing arts world. She has performed in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and was selected for the international opening for the Rockettes in Mexico. She also appeared on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines flagships, as well as many years in the theater, appearing in musicals such as Peter Pan, South Pacific, The Goodbye Girl and Oklahoma. She has performed in dance instructional videos as well as choreographed for many dance teams and theater groups around the country. Mindy has been teaching dance for 15 years and has recently been invited to be a judge for a national dance competition.

| Elizabeth Macy |
Elizabeth Macy grew up in a diverse musical and creative home that naturally led to a dance career. She has been dancing and training since she was 4 years old, here in Colorado, as well as intensive workshops and private instruction in New York and Los Angeles. Elizabeth has a broad and extensive knowledge of different dance styles, advanced technique, and performance experience, including television and music videos. At a very young age, Elizabeth was sought out and asked to assist many well known choreographers in the business including Brian Friedman, Travis Wall, Dee Caspary, Kim Mcswain, Laurie Kanyok, Nick Lazerinni, and many others. At age 17, Elizabeth was picked by Gil Stroming, owner and creator of JUMP and many other dance conventions, to tour and assist the choreographers across the U.S. Elizabeth later won JUMP’s National Senior Outstanding Dancer, and continued touring with them. Elizabeth soon started teaching young dancers at The Pointe Dance Academy before moving to Los Angeles where she signed with The Bloc Agency, dancing with hot new up and coming choreographers. Little did she know that teaching and choreographing was a passion that would become her life’s calling. With a unique vision for choreography, and a deep love for dance, she enjoys sharing and teaching young dancers who like herself, just want to dance.

| Melissa Pearson |
Melissa Pearson attended The University of Northern Colorado where she studied English and Cultural Studies as well as danced on the UNC Sugar Bears dance team. During her time in college she also spent a year at State University of New York at Binghamton where she studied creative writing and film. Following college she performed on Colorado’s Arena Football dance team, Colorado Crush.
Currently, Melissa coaches the Junior Varsity Poms team at Ponderosa High School and has been with The Pointe Dance Academy since 2005. She enjoys being a mentor to the dancers and watching them improve year by year. |
| Marie South |
Marie South, originally from Chandler, AZ received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre, with Dance and Music emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). In college she studied ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and ballroom dance and performed with groups such as the modern dance company, Desert Dance Theatre and UNC’s Dance Tour Troupe. Marie has also performed in college productions of The Music Man, Pirates of Penzance, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. She has choreographed many high school musicals here in Colorado such as Beauty and the Beast, Swing, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She currently teaches for Douglas County School District as a drama teacher at Sagewood Middle School.

| Lizzie Yacovetta |
Lizzie Yacovetta has been dancing since the age of 4. She has studied with
numerous master teachers and choreographers including; Mia Michaels, Dee Caspary,
Denise Wall, Stacey Tookey, Jason Parsons, Mark Meismer, and Doug Caldwell. In 2004,
she had the honor of being hand-selected to perform in Brian Friedman’s Carnival piece in
Los Angeles California. Lizzie also performed with Young Tanzsommer in Austria and
Italy. As a graduate of Colorado State University, Lizzie obtained her degree in Human
Development and Family Studies as a Performing Arts scholarship recipient. She began
teaching at the age of 17, and enjoys working with students of all ages. This will be her
third year as a member of The Pointe Dance Academy staff, and she is excited to begin
another season!
