6th Annual Dance Recital
June 10-11, 2011

Show Times
The performance will be on Saturday the 11th of June at 3:00 pm, with the dress rehearsal on Friday the 10th of June at 4:30pm.

Location
The performance will be held at The Newman Center for the Performing Arts.  It is located at the corner of East Iliff Avenue and South University Boulevard and is approximately 1 mile south of the University Boulevard exit off Interstate 25 (I-25).

Performance
The call time will be one hour before show time and the kids will be released at the end of the show.  Please make sure they are well rested and have snacks and water.  If they have a costume or hair change during the show, the volunteers will assist them. Every student must have a $0 balance to participate in the recital. Please check with the front desk if you are unsure of your balance.

Dress Rehearsal
This will be a full dress rehearsal.  All participants will need to be in costume, with full make-up and hair. All students need to plan on being there from 4:30 pm till approximately 8:30 pm. Each dancer may leave after their last performance. There will be volunteers backstage to help them with hair and makeup, if needed.  Please come early if your child will need assistance. Dressing areas are designated by levels; signs will be posted directing you to these areas. You may wait in the dressing room area with your child during rehearsal or in the lobby area.  There will be no men allowed in the dressing room areas.

Tickets
Tickets will be on sale Tuesday, May 31st at 10:00am.

They can be purchased at the studio. Tickets will be assigned seating.
First tier tickets are $20.00, second tier tickets are $15.00 and the third tier are $10.00.
We do have a contingency plan to have a 2nd show if necessary.

PLEASE GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY. 
THE RECITAL HAS SOLD OUT THE LAST 3 YEARS.  DON’T WAIT!!!

Volunteers
On the rehearsal and performance day, the kids will be signed in backstage and will be released at the end of the show, when they will be signed out. We will need volunteer parents to help us backstage. They will look after the kids and get them lined up for their turn onstage as well as fix hair and make up throughout the show. Please let us know if you would like to help us backstage and if you have expertise in one of these areas.  There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board inside the studio.  Unless you are a volunteer, please do not plan on being back stage during the show. 

Picture Date is Saturday, June 4, 2011
There will be a picture day for all classes at the studio on June 4th .  We will have a photographer taking pictures of each class in full costume.  There is no obligation to purchase any pictures, but we would like every child there for the photo shoot.  Please do not be late as we are on a tight schedule and cannot wait for late comers.  This is a good way to ensure all costumes are correct and that everyone has what they need for recital.

Recital Video
The Newman Center will offer a professional videotape or DVD of the recital. Video equipment will not be permitted in the auditorium during rehearsal or recital. We hope that this will allow you to sit back and enjoy the show. DVD’s may be purchased at the recital, in the lobby area.
